Prince Harry cut 'Spare' memoir out of fear of family

According to the 38-year-old father of two, if he left some facts in the book, his father and brother would never forgive him.

Prince Harry told The Daily Telegraph that the manuscript of his autobiographical book, which has already broken record sales, was twice as long as the published version. The youngest son of Charles III would have had enough material for more than one book about life in the British royal family.

"The first draft was different," Harry reported. “It had 800 pages, and now there are 400. The material could be enough for two books if there were no changes. And it was hard to throw out some pieces. According to the prince, more amazing things happened between him, his father and brother than those described in the book, but he decided not to disclose them for ethical reasons. "I don't think they would ever forgive me for that," he admitted.

Prince Harry's autobiography Spare went on sale on January 10th, days after it was leaked to the press. With 1.43 million copies sold on its first day in the UK, US and Canada, the memoirs of the son of Charles III were listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest-selling work in the non-fiction genre.
