Charles III plans to break centuries-old tradition at his own coronation

The monarch is suspected of wanting to set his own rules of the game.

The coronation of Charles III is scheduled for May 6, 2023, the event will traditionally take place in Westminster Abbey. However, the coronation may not follow long-standing traditions in everything.

According to British media, citing anonymous sources at Windsor Castle, Charles III wants to make some changes to the script regarding his wardrobe.

Allegedly, the monarch would have preferred to come to his coronation in a military uniform instead of breeches and silk stockings.

It was in this outfit that all men from the royal family were crowned in Great Britain for many centuries.

But for Charles, such clothes seem “old-fashioned and long outdated,” in connection with which the British began to suspect the king of wanting to rewrite other codes and rules of the monarchy.
