Xiaomi CEO personally tests the brand's first electric car

Lei Jun Xiaomi examines the performance of a car during a period of severe weather.

Vehicles were tested at low temperatures on ice and snow. As the ubiquitous photojournalists managed to make out, one of the two cars was driven by the founder and CEO of the company, Lei Jun.

The main body of the new model has been hidden under camouflage, and from the looks of it, one can only assume that Xiaomi is hiding a sports sedan.

Although some details have already been reported in the media, for example, that the car will have a Qualcomm 8295 single-chip system and an unmanned driving system with a laser rangefinder.

A few other specs are unverified: Xiaomi contains a Blade iron phosphate battery made by BYD, compatible with 400-volt charging. A CATL Qilin battery that supports 800-volt charging, which takes only 15 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%.

The official presentation of the new car is planned for this year, and it will be available for purchase next year.

Earlier it became known that according to Denis Manturov, the E-Neva electric car will be designed for the average buyer.
