Gif review: Land Rover Defender 130 (2023): even longer and more chic

A new modification of the Defender SUV in the richest version with 8 seats has appeared in the lineup

The other day the British announced the long Land Rover Defender 130. According to tradition, the index on the previous models was equal to the wheelbase in inches. However, now it has become a part of the history. SUV has the same distance between axles as Defender 110 - 3 022mm. Because of the 340mm increased rear overhang, the length became 5,358mm, with 290mm of air suspension clearance, which is part of the basic equipment.

The big guy provides three rows of eight seats, where the last row is equipped with heated seats and separate USB-ports for recharging smartphones. The volume of the luggage compartment is 389 liters, if you fold down the backrests of the third row, it increases to 1,232, and if you fold down the second row - 2,291 liters.

The SUV has the richest basic package, which includes a panoramic roof and the Pivi Pro multimedia system with an 11.4-inch display. Four-zone climate control and expensive interior trim materials are offered as extras.

The engine lineup consists exclusively of 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engines paired with a 48-volt starter generator. These are a pair of 250- and 300-horsepower diesels and a 300- and 400-horsepower petrol unit. The last variant is able to cope with the 0-100 discipline in 6.6 seconds.

The optional ZF 8-band automatic transmission is transferring the effort to a switchable all-wheel drive. In UK the price for the Defender 130 starts at £73,900.
