Audi Activesphere between crossover and sedan

Audi continues to develop the concept of electric cars of the future. The lineup already includes the Skyphere roadster, the Grandsphere sedan and the Urbansphere minivan. The other day, another Audi Activesphere car was added to this list. The new concept is a combination of a crossover and a sedan. This is how automakers position their creation.

Audi Activesphere stands out for its striking appearance. The head optics has an LED pattern in the form of eyes. The traditional grille has been replaced by a blank glass panel that flows smoothly into the front bumper with pronounced cheekbones. The body profile is notable for its narrow glazing line and convex shapes, which are replaced by a pronounced recess in the lower part of the doors. The back is notable for the original graphics of the lights connected by an LED strip. A massive body kit and 22-inch darkened wheels shod in low-profile tires add a special style to the car. By pressing a special key, the car can be transformed into a pickup truck. In this case, the rear window slides onto the roof, and the lower part of the stern turns into a loading platform.

The Audi Activesphere, built on the Premium Platform Electric architecture, is 4980mm long, 2070mm wide, 1600mm high and 2970mm wheelbase. The ground clearance is 208mm, while it can be reduced or increased by another 40mm using the air suspension.

The alternative is autopilot, which hides the steering wheel and dashboard. The automaker has provided mixed reality glasses, which, in addition to the virtual world, make it possible not to leave the real one, broadcast from additional cameras. The system understands the voice interface and hand gestures.

The Audi Activesphere is driven by two electric motors, one on each axle. The total return of the installation is 442 forces and 720 Nm. Responsible for power is a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, which will allow you to drive a distance of 600 km on a single charge. You can replenish your energy reserve up to 80% in 25 minutes.

Audi plans to introduce the first production cars from the Sphere line at the end of this year. Which of the four electric cars will be the first is still unknown.
