Ineos temporarily abandons its hydrogen SUV project

The company claims problems with the infrastructure.

SUV maker Ineos is halting production of its hydrogen fuel cell model and does not currently have a new market launch date. This information was published by Car Expert after the commercial director of Ineos Automotive, Mark Tennant, spoke about this new product during the presentation of the first model in Scotland.

The project was put on hold due to lack of infrastructure to fuel the model.

As Tennant noted, “For us, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle is the right zero-emissions option, but due to infrastructure issues, we cannot bet full-time on fuel cells until we are more confident that people can refuel and use it with maximum efficiency.
