Updated Volkswagen Tuyue will go on sale in China in early spring
In China, the restyled crossover will be on sale from March 1.
Fresh Volkswagen Tuyue will start selling in China on March 1. The compact crossover has undergone minor cosmetic changes, and also received a completely different interior, equipped with a floating central control screen. Also, a new power unit has appeared in the line of motors.
Looking at the facelifted Volkswagen Tuyue, you can see that the look is taking on a whole new family style of design. The combination of a two-story grille, divided in two by an LED strip that turns into a pattern of daytime running lights and headlights of a new architecture looks quite original. All this is packed into an athletic front bumper with a large polygonal air intake. It is worth noting that the unique Moon Black visualization kit will be available as an option for the crossover.
The side surface of the body is distinguished by bright stampings and angular wheel arches, which are emphasized by a contour edging made of unpainted plastic. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the new car are 4458/1841/1632 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2680 mm, which is 5 mm more than the current model. The overall picture is complemented by a pattern of alloy wheels and a small spoiler on the tailgate lid.
Salon Volkswagen Tuyue received a fully digital instrument panel and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The rest of the control is entrusted to the 12-inch multimedia display, which has a fresh interface, and also supports Apple CarPlay and other services. The climate control unit has touch keys.
Under the hood of the Volkswagen Tuyue, one of two gasoline turbo engines can be located. The stock version of the 1.5 T will replace the previous 1.4 T engine. The new engine has a maximum power of 160 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. A couple of units that can run on 92-octane gasoline will be a 7-band “robot” with dual clutch. The older modifications are based on the old 2.0-liter turbo four with 186 forces and 320 Nm. Prices for the updated cross will be announced soon.
