Kia EV9 (2024): review of a huge crossover

Kia recently released information about the production version of the EV9 crossover. The compact Kia EV6, which is aimed at the European market, became the firstborn of the electric line. Kia EV9 was created for customers in North America. It is already known today that prices for SUVs will range from $56,000 to $73,000.

The flagship Kia EV9 was awarded a striking exterior design. Vertical head optics has a complex graphic pattern of daytime running lights. The blind panel, in place of the radiator grill, received the signature shape of the “tiger nose”. A large central air intake is integrated into the multilayer front bumper. The stately silhouette of the crossover is notable for the “floating” roof, pronounced stampings and contrasting glossy contour edging that runs along the angular wheel arches and the bottom of the doors. The stern stands out with the original graphic signature of the rear lights. Complementing the picture are two-tone 21-inch alloy wheels. Exact dimensions are still under wraps. At the same time, it is already known that the length will be about 5 meters, the width will approach two, and the distance between the axles will be about 3,100 mm.

The family Kia EV9 has a three-row interior. Customers will be able to choose between seven or six seats. The steering wheel looks quite original, which hides behind a cockpit consisting of two 12.3-inch displays. The air conditioning unit is controlled using conventional keys. Naturally, even the basic version will have a lot of electronic driver assistants on board.

All technical details are yet to be announced. It is only known that the modular architecture of the E-GMP provides for an 800-volt electrical system and a DC charger with a power of up to 350 kW. According to preliminary data, the stock rear-wheel drive modification will be equipped with an installation for 203 forces and 339 Nm, the cruising range on a single charge is 350 or 470 km, depending on the capacity of the battery packs. All-wheel drive electric cars will have two motors with a total capacity of 406 forces. A full presentation is scheduled for the end of March.
