Huawei and Seres debut Aito M9 at Guangzhou Auto Show

The pre-sale offer includes a 10,000 yuan (approx. $1,400) discount on the final price of the machine upon a deposit of 5,000 yuan (approx. $700). Customers placing orders will receive shipping benefits as well as the opportunity to visit the factory where the electric vehicles are made.

The Aito M9 is expected to officially go on sale next month. As of the beginning of the month, pre-orders have surpassed 20,000 units since pre-sales began on September 25, according to reports.

The Aito M9 SUV has impressive dimensions: its length, width and height are 5230, 1999 and 1800 mm, respectively, and its wheelbase is 3110 mm. The model is offered in both pure electric and hybrid versions with a range extender.

The electric version of this car demonstrates outstanding technical characteristics, combining modern innovations and high performance. Equipped with two electric motors from Huawei, the car guarantees a powerful and smooth ride. The front engine produces 160 kW, while the rear engine offers even more power at 230 kW. This configuration provides excellent acceleration and driving dynamics, allowing the car to easily cope with both urban conditions and more demanding driving situations.

The battery system from CATL with a capacity of 97.682 kWh is a key element in the electric version of the car. Not only does it provide an excellent range of up to 630 km, making the car ideal for long trips without the need for frequent recharging, but it also supports fast charging thanks to the use of an 800 V platform. This feature significantly reduces the time required to fully charge the battery, increasing convenience and flexibility of car use.

EREV version of Aito M9

The hybrid version of the EREV is an advanced technological solution that combines efficiency and flexibility. The basis of this model is a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a power of 112 kW, which ensures confident and powerful performance. This engine is complemented by a pair of electric motors located on the front and rear axles. The front electric motor has a power of 165 kW, while the rear motor has a power of 112 kW. This power distribution allows the car to demonstrate excellent dynamic performance and handling, and also provides a choice between gasoline and electric drive, depending on driving conditions and driver preferences.

The battery system of this hybrid version includes a 40.055 kWh battery that allows the car to cover a distance of up to 175 km on a single charge in all-electric mode. This gives the driver considerable flexibility in the choice of operating mode, making the car suitable for both short city trips and longer journeys where the benefits of the hybrid system can be taken advantage of.

Aito M9 is the result of a collaboration between Huawei and Seres. Under this joint venture, Seres handles manufacturing and Huawei supplies motors, chips, sensors and other components. Currently, two models are sold under the Aito brand in China: the M5 and M7 SUVs.

The restyled Aito M7 has shown a high level of popularity in the market, receiving over 40,000 orders after its launch. Aito plans to start selling the flagship M9 SUV in December, and its production has already started in China.
