Dodge Charger Daytona SRT (2024). Gif review of the incredible electric car

Stellantis is going to offer fans of muscle cars to switch to electric cars. After the Charger, a zero-emission Challenger is due.

Today, the global automotive industry is at a turning point. Environmental standards are gradually removing many popular models from the list because of too high levels of harmful emissions. Optimization of the internal combustion engine for these standards entails huge costs. The surest way is to present the next generation as a purebred electric car. This is the way Stellantis went, announcing the conceptual Dodge Charger Daytona SRT.

At present, this is the first electric muscle car. The designers did a good job and tried to retain the outlines of the legendary 1970s Dodge Charger, which often flashed on blue screen TV in box office blockbusters. The front end draws attention with its embossed, curved hood. Encased between the carved edges of the side fenders is an LED headlamp, presented as a uniform line with daytime running lights, in the form of an illuminated lower contour. All this is packed in a muscular front bumper with an impressive air intake and a pronounced splitter. The sleek silhouette is notable for a thin line of glazing, no side drains, unique body relief and three-dimensional wheel arches, which hides the original pattern of alloy wheels, shod in low-profile rubber. The stern is represented by a single block of lights with a special graphic signature. Additional air ducts and a diffuser with a set of separate openings are integrated into the rear bumper.

The interior of the electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT also impresses with its special style. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with touchpad panels, hides behind a 16-inch panel of virtual scales. A hovering 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen, which supports all mobile services and understands voice commands, rises above the central air deflector unit. It is worth noting that there is a classic gearbox selector on the central tunnel, which is a direct reference to the classic cars of the company. Also in the arsenal is an 8-inch projection display.

According to insiders, the model is built on the STLA Large architecture. The existing electric cars built on this platform are capable of covering 800 km on a single charge. It is also known that in the bowels of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT will hide two electric motors, placed one on each axle. Approximately, the power of the maslkar will exceed the mark of 700 powers, which is much more than what gasoline modifications can offer.

The production version was promised to be shown until 2024, when production of the electric car will be set up, which will be offered to customers, as a liftback and sedan.
