Glamorous “gelik”: Mercedes-Benz releases G-Class, decorated with 25 carats

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an exclusive version of its iconic G-Class SUV, dubbed the "Stronger Than Diamonds Edition". This model exudes luxury with 25-carat diamonds set into the stainless steel door pins, making this car a true work of art.

Finished in an exclusive rosewood gray color developed specifically for this model through Manufaktur's personalization program, each owner will also receive a certificate from the Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC) for all the ethical, social and environmental responsibility standards adopted in the mining of the diamonds for this car.

Needless to say, Mercedes is always associated with luxury and quality. And this version of “Gelika” was no exception. The interior is finished in premium black nappa leather with pink contrast stitching, complemented by deep-pile floor mats that add a cosiness to the cabin. Design features include illuminated door sills and grab handle with "Stronger Than Diamonds" lettering, as well as silver badges on the key and door handles.

This G-Class model is based on the G500 with a 4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The engine, which develops 421 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque, gives this SUV impressive performance: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds makes it one of the fastest cars in its class.

A top speed of 215 km/h underscores the G-Class's ability to combine the classic features of a luxury SUV with elements of a sports car. This makes it attractive to a wide range of buyers who value both power and speed, as well as the versatility and status inherent in G-Class models.

Despite lacking the AMG branding traditionally associated with high-performance Mercedes-Benz models, this G-Class offers driving fun and performance comparable to AMG versions.

The limited edition of 300 units is offered at a special price of 175,000 euros (about 17.1 million rubles) in Germany, which is significantly higher than the starting price of the standard G500 model. This is not surprising given such ambitions of the automaker. This SUV will certainly become the pearl of any collection, symbolizing not only status, but also the refined taste of its owner.
