Lada E-Largus electric cars will roll off the assembly line in 2023

Avtovaz is preparing a production line for electric Largus. Pre-production versions will be announced by the end of this year

The other day the head of the Volga Automobile Plant, Maxim Sokolov, confirmed the rapid production of the first electric cars. According to Sokolov, the production of the Lada E-Largus will start in 2023. Experimental batch will be intended for testing on public roads. Of course, before the official debut of the prototype will take place, which is tentatively scheduled for this year.

Also, the head of AvtoVAZ said that in the case of successful testing of prototypes, it is possible that the production Lada E-Largus will see the light immediately after testing. Moreover, even today the enterprise is in full swing for a gradual localization of production of the model.

The top manager also shared his plans for the future. In his opinion, by 2030 - the year of electrification of all automobile brands - the classical internal combustion engine will remain the most popular in our latitudes. Nevertheless, Lada will include several electric cars in its lineup. Along with them, a very large number of commercial vehicles will be converted to gas engines.

Sokolov said that electrification in Russia will take a long time. Initially, it will concern such megacities as Moscow and St. Petersburg. Then it will gradually move to smaller cities.
