Even though her character is still learning the art of being Parisian, actress Lily Collins herself fully embraces the French approach to beauty. Those bright red lips, which became part of the French standard of appearance, have long become her calling card both on and off camera. In the midst of filming the fourth season of Emily in Paris, the British ELLE interviewed Collins in which she shared her thoughts on beauty and ways to maintain it.

About skin care
“I use sunscreen every day, it is very important to protect myself from UV rays. I use Kiehl's and it's super light and unscented. And I always carry serum and foundation with me (Advanced Génifique Serum and Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation from Lancome). I also keep Burt's Bees lip balm in my purse on a regular basis, it's super moisturizing and the peppermint it contains tingles my lips."
About maintaining good health
“There are many forms of self-care: therapy, meditation, reading a book or a great cup of coffee. I've found joy in long showers and just use that time for myself. Also, keeping a journal is important for me to maintain good health. Morning and evening, I write words of gratitude in the Five Minute Journal.
About preparing your appearance before filming
“I love going to Cible Skin beauty salon in Paris. They work wonders on my skin when I'm filming Emily in Paris. And my mood and health are always better than at the beginning of the season. Oh, and I never forget Beekeeper Propolis Throat Spray. To mitigate and protect against illness while traveling.”

About the beauty mantra
“I believe that the features that make you different from others make you beautiful. Let me add to this, the older I get, the more I understand the importance of taking care of my hair and skin. So when I'm not working, less is more! I always experiment with glam when I'm working or going to a big event, but in my free time I'm a minimalist with makeup and focus on skin care and self-care."
About hair care
“Whether I'm doing a film or a photo shoot, it has a very big impact on my hair. Because they are stretched, dyed and curled. So when I'm not working, I'm on a damage reduction mission using Living Proof's Triple Bond Complex. This is a way that I can control the condition of my hair, and I have confidence in it.”
About Parisian beauty rules...
“I believe that clear skin and red lipstick can take any outfit from day to evening, and it's a truly Parisian way that doesn't require much effort.”
