Apple delays bonus payments and restricts hiring of new employees
Apple, the company with the highest market value in the world, began tightening its belts in July 2022, although it avoided massive layoffs.
As part of efforts to cut costs, the American company is delaying bonus payments to employees of some departments, and has also limited hiring. It is reported by Bloomberg.
Previously, Apple gave out bonuses once (October) or twice a year (April, October) depending on the division. Under the new plan, there will be no bonus in April 2023 and all divisions will switch to annual bonuses in October.
Citing its sources, the publication writes that this is not about senior employees of the company. Apple's most senior employees typically receive their bonuses on a quarterly basis.
