The author of the legendary hit Money singer Barrett Strong died in the USA

In the United States, the famous American singer-songwriter Barrett Strong passed away at his home in Detroit.

The cause of death of the 81-year-old musician is not known, but the police have already ruled out a criminal version.

The singer first appeared on stage at the age of eighteen in the late fifties, and already in the first year of his career he wrote the song "Money", which instantly made him a star of the first magnitude.

Subsequently, Rolling Stone included the song in the "Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

Many of Strong's other songs were undeniable hits, including I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Just My Imagination and Papa Was a Rollin' Stone.
