Britney Spears will return to music with Elton John

Britney Spears is preparing to release her first song in two years. To that end, she has teamed up with pop scene maestro Elton John.

The musicians are recording a single together called "Hold Me Closer". John confirmed this information on social media, sharing a symbolic image. The pink background features a rose, representing Britney, and a rocket, a well-known emblem of Elton himself. He did not write anything in the commentary, but only indicated the hashtag #HoldMeCloser. The official release date of the song is unknown.

USA Today newspaper reminds that in John's discography there is a song called "Tiny Dancer" with the words: "hold me closer tiny dancer". And at this point, it's impossible to say for sure whether the Spears and John's new creation will be a re-single or it will be a completely different, original single.

The last time Britney released a new track was in 2020. Together with the musicians of the famous American band Backstreet Boys, she presented "Matches" to the listeners.
