Elton John "leaked" his duet with Britney Spears before its official releas

The 75-year-old musician delighted fans in French Cannes with a snippet of his new single, "Hold Me Closer," which he recorded with the American singer.

During an impromptu performance at La Guerite restaurant on the Côte d'Azur, John played a short excerpt of a modern version of his 1971 hit "Tiny Dancer." Earlier this month, it was announced that the maestro and Britney Spears were recording the song in a danceable arrangement and titled "Hold Me Closer." The official release is scheduled for August 26th.

While on vacation in the South of France, John, obviously in a good mood, did not wait for the premiere and decided to entertain the visitors of a restaurant by joining a local DJ. The crowd went into raptures and started filming the performance on their cell phones. "Britney Spears, Elton John, let's go," Elton announced before entering the verse. It turns out that "Hold Me Closer" differs from the original "Tiny Dancer" not only in name, sound, but also in lyrics. Now we just have to wait for the release of the full version of the track.
