Italian pizza is popular all over the world. Some people sometimes treat themselves to going to a pizzeria, but if this is not possible, you can easily cook it yourself.

How to make homemade Italian pizza dough

Making homemade Italian pizza dough is easier than you think. All you need is flour, salt, yeast and butter to get an unsurpassed result.

So, to prepare the dough we will need (ingredients for 4 persons):

  • 375 g wholemeal flour;
  • 300 ml water;
  • ¼ tablespoon salt;
  • 10 g fresh yeast;
  • 30 g butter.

1. Start with flour.

To make homemade pizza dough, the first thing you need to do is pour flour into a bowl. Then add salt and stir, if possible, with a wooden spoon. The goal is to ensure that the two ingredients are well mixed.

2. Add some water.

In the next step, start by warming the water slightly and gradually add it to the bowl of flour. At the same time, do not forget to stir the mixture with a spatula to form a homogeneous mass.

3. Process the dough.

Continue kneading the mixture until you obtain a homogeneous dough.

4. Add yeast.

Before adding yeast to the mixture, you need to dilute it in water. After kneading the dough, make a depression in the upper part of it and pour in the yeast and vegetable oil. Then knead the dough again with your hands and you will see that it becomes more and more fluffy. You need to knead the dough for at least 5 minutes.

5. Roll into a ball and let it rise.

When the dough is fluffy enough, form it into a ball. Then cover it with a damp kitchen towel and let it ferment for at least an hour. After this it should double in size.

6. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin.

Flour the surface on which you will roll out the dough. Cut the dough into two parts. Now roll them out with a rolling pin, also dusted with flour, until they reach the desired shape and thickness.

Trick: If you want the golden color that wood-fired ovens give, place the pizza directly on the plate for the first 2-3 minutes. After these minutes have passed, we carefully transfer the pizza to a baking sheet: then the cooking process is normal.
