The Witcher 4 will take many years

CD Projekt presented excellent financial results and touched upon the creation of the next The Witcher.

Do not expect that the choice of the CD Projekt Red core team in favor of Unreal Engine 5 suddenly accelerated work on The Witcher 4. The first part of the new trilogy is being developed on modern technology, and during the discussion, the head of the company, Adam Kicinski, admitted that the developers only create tools and learn run on engine:

“We are preparing graphics and tools. Some developers are still learning the technology and at the same time, there are teams that are working with Epic on all aspects required for our open-world RPGs and storytelling. Definitely for first project, Polaris, it... might not slow down, but it won't speed up the processes either. But as far as future projects are concerned, we assume that this should smooth out the development. That was one of the reasons why we said we wanted to release three big Witcher games in six years, starting with Polaris, or Witcher 4."
