The immunologist told how to survive seasonal allergies

The flowering period of plants begins in early spring and ends in autumn. During this period, you need to be especially attentive to your health.

In the middle of spring comes a particularly active flowering period of plants. First — birch and alder, then — dandelions, later — cereals. Not the most pleasant time for allergy sufferers. At this time, they should especially take care of their health. Nadezhda Logina, an immunologist and allergist, told about what can help alleviate the symptoms of pollinosis.

She advised to avoid staying in the flowering areas as much as possible, but if there is no possibility to change the habitat or there is a need to be outside, you should protect yourself from pollen exposure.:

- wear clothes covering the whole body;

- wear hats — they will protect the hair from pollen ingress;

- when you come home, take a shower, wash your hair, rinse your nose,

- ventilate the rooms only in the early morning or late evening.

Also, during the period of pollinosis, it is better not to eat stone fruits, nuts and fresh carrots — if you are allergic to birch pollen, their use can cause a cross-allergic reaction. When cereals bloom, it is worth excluding oatmeal porridge and bread from consumption. And during the flowering of weeds, you should not eat zucchini and tomatoes.

There is also a method of treating seasonal allergies — autolymphocytotherapy. "A little blood is taken from a person and lymphocytes are isolated from it — cells of his own immune system. Then the lymphocytes are injected as a regular vaccine. However, in order to achieve the effect, it is necessary to undergo a course of such treatment," the specialist said.
