New Huawei P60 and P60 Pro
New Huawei smartphones come with 200x zoom, Qualcomm processors and great battery life, but with the same limitations as before.
Huawei has announced in China the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro, its two new flagships with a redesigned camera and a telephoto lens capable of capturing images up to 200x. Both smartphones also come with a Qualcomm processor, an OLED display, and other interesting features.
Interestingly, the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro are two very similar smartphones. In fact, they share almost the same look, which is accentuated by their high-gloss rear, which houses a new photo module that places the main sensor at the center. Both mobile phones are also equipped with a 6.78-inch display; both use OLED technology, a resolution of 1220 x 2700 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Both Huawei P60 and Huawei P60 Pro are equipped with the first generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ processor without 5G support. In the base model, the SoC comes with three internal storage configurations: 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. On the other hand, there are only two options available in the Pro version; 256 and 512 GB. The newer higher-end Huawei models also have a total battery capacity of 4815 mAh each. Note that they are fast charging. Huawei P60 supports 66W while Huawei P60 Pro can charge at 88W. Keep in mind that wireless charging is the same in both cases: from 55W.
Three cameras with a clear protagonist: the telephoto lens
We are starting to see important differences in the photos section. Both the Huawei P60 and P60 Pro feature a triple lens, and both models essentially have the same wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle cameras. The main one is a 48-megapixel RYYB (not RGB) sensor. The secondary, dedicated to ultra-wide-angle photography, boasts a resolution of 13 megapixels.
Keep in mind that the telephoto lens on the Huawei P60 Pro is more powerful. Here we find a 48-megapixel periscope camera capable of taking pictures with 3.5x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom; significantly greater range compared to other competitor smartphones. In addition, thanks to the Huawei XD Fusion Pro processing engine dedicated to cameras, this lens can be used for night mode photography or even macro shots.
The Huawei P60 is equipped with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens capable of taking pictures with 5x optical zoom. Its maximum range is somewhat lower than that of its older brother; with 100x digital magnification.
