The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 line is divided into two completely different groups: PRO and standard models. Smart watch costing just over a hundred euros will satisfy in, which are designed to satisfy all those users

A month after the launch of the Xiaomi 13 in the west, the Asian company unveiled the Redmi Note 12 series in partnership, consisting of five cell phones that stagger the range from 200 to 500 euros.

Along with them also saw the Redmi Watch 3, a smart watch costing just over a hundred euros, which is designed to satisfy all those users who want to go beyond the initial wearable devices such as wristbands for physical monitoring or inexpensive smart watches. but without spending a few hundred euros.

All but one of these products are available from this Thursday on the brand's official channels.

Features of the Redmi Note 12, Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G and Note 12 Pro 5G +

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 lineup is divided into two very different groups. On the one hand, the two Pro models, which share many of the same features. On the other hand, the standard models.

What are the differences between the Pro models?

The differences between the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G are limited to four aspects: photography, charging speed, thickness and weight.

Photography:the Pro + 5G model has a 200-megapixel main sensor, while the Pro 5G version opts for the 50-megapixel IMX766.

Charging speed: The most advanced model has 120 watts of power, while the Pro 5G has 67 watts.

Weight and thickness: 210 grams and 8.98 mm thick for the Pro+ 5G model; 187 grams and 7.9 mm for the Pro 5G model.

How are the standard models different?

In this case, the differences are more noticeable. There are changes in the main camera, processor, size, RAM and connectivity options.

Photography:

the 5G version has a 48-megapixel camera, while the main camera in the 4G version has a 50-megapixel camera.

Processor: we have the Snapdragon 4 generation 1 in the 5G model and Snapdragon 685 in the 4G version.

Dimensions: despite the same screen, the 4G model is slightly narrower, thinner and lighter than the 5G model.

RAM: the Redmi Note 12 5G version sold in Spain has 6GB of RAM, while the 4G version has 4GB.

Communication: the most noticeable difference in this case is the 5G, which is only available in one of the two models. This is in addition to Bluetooth, which is 5.0 in the most basic model and 5.1 in the most advanced model.

Overall, the Redmi Note 12 series offers several improvements, but none of them show a significant jump over the previous generation. Nevertheless, this is not only true for Xiaomi, but for the entire industry. The leaps are getting smaller and smaller every year. The macroeconomic context also does not help the mid- or low-level products, where profitability has always been at the limit.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that Xiaomi is standardizing in the lower segments on technology that, until relatively recently, was exclusive to the upper segments. For example: even the cheapest Redmi Note 12 4G now features a 120Hz AMOLED display. This component, among other things, makes everything smoother.

Another example of these higher-end tablets is the 200-megapixel sensor built into the Redmi Note 12 Pro + 5G, which until now has only been in the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

Xiaomi has also taken a few steps forward as far as storage is concerned. For example: the Redmi Note 12 5G, which replaces the Redmi Note 11S 5G, has part 128 GB, while the previous model had 64 GB. The same goes for the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, which now comes with 256 GB of storage as standard.

Finally, we can consider it a victory that Xiaomi has finally dispensed with the low-resolution depth sensors, whose real usefulness - apart from marketing - has always been questionable.
