The new Motorola Edge 40 Pro is the most promising mobile phone

The new flagship of the brand has the same characteristics as the most powerful mobile phones from Samsung or Xiaomi, but at a price of less than 1000 euros.

Motorola has launched the Motorola Edge 40 Pro worldwide, its new flagship that will update the Motorola Edge 30 Pro with a new look, Qualcomm's most powerful SoC to date, a promising display, and a curious photo section. And all this, moreover, at an interesting price compared to competitors; less than 1000 euros.

One of the highlights of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is its appearance, which differs from its predecessor, although not compared to other members of the Edge 30 family such as the Edge 30 Neo, and which is also certified water and dust resistant. IP68. The Edge 40 Pro stands out with its matte-coated glass back and hidden photo module at the top.

The front has a slight curvature around all edges, including the top and bottom of the phone. This is, of course, a little less noticeable than, for example, the Vivo X90 Pro.

As for the display, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro uses P-OLED technology. Specifically, it's a 6.67-inch panel with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. All this, moreover, with a 4600mAh battery and up to 125W fast charging. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro also supports wireless charging and includes two-way charging.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro also stands out for its performance. In fact, the terminal is equipped with an 8th generation Snapdragon chip. 2, one of Qualcomm's most powerful processors, which we also see in terminals such as the Xiaomi 13 Pro or the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It comes with 12GB of RAM as well as 256GB of base storage, expandable via microSD.

Motorola doesn't seem to have skimped on the photography section either. The Edge 40 Pro is equipped with a triple lens that features a 50-megapixel main sensor with Quad Pixel technology that combines four pixels into one for sharper photos.

This camera comes with a second 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, which can also be used for macro photography. The third sensor is a 12-megapixel telephoto lens capable of taking pictures at 2x optical zoom. This is the first time the company has included a sensor for these features in one of its smartphones.

Motorola has also added a few extra features to the camera. For example, you can shoot videos up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second, or record using the front and rear cameras at the same time and only activate the front when the person holding the phone speaks.

Price and availability of the new Motorola Edge 40 Pro

Motorola Moto Edge 40 Pro is available from today in a single version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for 899 euros. Specifically, it costs €100 more than its predecessor, the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which went on sale for €799, but is exactly the same as the Edge 30 Ultra, which boasts lower specs.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is also a cheaper alternative to its competitors; Xiaomi 13, available for around 1000 euros; and Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus, for about 1200 euros.
