PS5 received a new firmware version

A few weeks after the update, Sony released another patch to improve the PlayStation 5. You should not count on new dizzying features.

The Japanese manufacturer and publisher is consistently working to improve the experience and use of its devices. After high-profile flashes with VRR support and Discord voice chat, it's time for cyclic fixes to the hardware system. The latest of them are already available for download.

PS5 received a fresh firmware 23.01-07.40.00, which takes up a little more than 1 GB. The company has focused on improving system stability, fixing messages, and improving support for some screens.

"Version: 23.01-07.40.00:

We have improved the performance and stability of the system software.
We've improved messages and usability on some screens."
