Since Samsung's new foldable devices have already been officially unveiled, the manufacturer's next big event in the mobile business will take place in the first quarter of 2024. The highlight will be the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the flagship of the series, which is usually completed with Standard and Plus models. It should be remembered that the Ultra option is the most expensive. In addition to a solid data sheet, it comes with a stylus and takes up the space vacated in the discontinued Galaxy Note.

Although we are many months away from the official presentation, leaker Yogesh Brar on Twitter spoke about the possible functions of the device. In a short message, he predicted what his processor, battery will be, and also provided detailed information about the cameras and charging speed.

As we noted, the announcement will take place during the first few months of next year. The South Korean company usually showcases its new series shortly before Mobile World Congress. The 2024 presentation will take place towards the end of February at the usual headquarters in Barcelona.

Galaxy S24 Ultra: possible characteristics of the next Samsung flagship

The Asian company will resume the habit of releasing the Galaxy S series with two processor options, as noted on the Phone Arena website. In this regard, Brar commented that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 processor, depending on the market.

In Europe, the phone will be offered with a second chip to keep the current price range. However, it would be astounding considering that the Galaxy S23 Ultra was launched in the old continent with a Snapdragon 8 gen 2 processor after complaining about the poor performance of the Exynos 2200, which improved the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

In terms of photographic specs, a leak has revealed that Samsung's flagship will feature a new 50MP 3x telephoto lens. If this assumption, which was also expected from leaker Ice Universe, is confirmed, it will be a significant jump, given that in the latest models of the Galaxy Ultra this component has a resolution of 10 megapixels. Otherwise, the main camera is expected to remain at 200MP, paired with a 12MP wide-angle lens.

The manufacturer will also introduce a 10-megapixel periscope lens with 10x optical zoom. In addition, it is expected to use the same 12-megapixel front-facing selfie camera found on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

One of the surprises of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be its display. Keeping the QHD+ resolution, it will improve the refresh rate to 144Hz. It should be remembered that the refresh rate of the S23 Ultra is 120 Hz, which in this technical aspect improves the smoothness of animations and transitions: ideal for those who play games on mobile devices.

On the other hand, prior to Brar's tweet, there were rumors about the possibility of increasing the charging speed of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, the leak disproved this rumor. In this regard, he pointed out that the power of a mobile phone on a cable is 45 watts, as in modern models. In addition, he noted that the battery will be 5000 mAh.

As for the design of the upcoming Galaxy S Ultra, not much is known yet, although nothing major is expected compared to its predecessors. Keep in mind: in the dance of rumors, it slipped that the South Korean company will replace aluminum in smartphone frames and opt for titanium.

In terms of pricing, it will be interesting to see what Samsung has to offer with the Galaxy S24 Ultra and whether it actually manages to keep the prices of its predecessor. Recall that the Galaxy S23 Ultra went on sale in Europe at a price of 1409 euros for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of disk space. While the top version (12 GB + 1 TB) debuted for 1649 euros.
