Internet browser extensions turned out to be password stealers

Russians are reminded to be careful when requesting their personal data.

When an Internet browser extension is installed, users are often asked for consent to disclose or change their personal data.

In such situations, as expert Artem Kazantsev explained, unauthorized persons and companies not only gain access to people's personal data, but can also perform virtually any actions with it, including on behalf of and without the user's knowledge.

By giving their consent to the data back, a person actually gives someone else all the passwords and access to their pages.

In the best case a person will face with aggressive advertising on his page, in the worst case a person can lose money with the help of intercepted passwords and even become a criminal case if some illegal actions were performed on his behalf.

That's why the expert recommends installing only known safe extensions from trusted companies.
