The popular messenger WhatsApp stopped working for many users around the world. The failures were reported from Asia, Europe and South Africa. Problems arose with sending and receiving text messages and videos.
In particular, around ten in the morning (Moscow time) site downdetector recorded that 68 thousand residents of the UK, 19 thousand residents of Singapore and 15 thousand residents of South Africa can not fully use the messenger.
According to statistics, WhatsApp is installed on 2.2 billion technical devices. An hour-long glitch in its operation last October adversely affected global trade, from cryptocurrencies to oil products. Over time, many traders switched to Telegram in their contacts. Pavel Durov, the owner of that messenger, warned on Oct. 6: "Stay away from WhatsApp, it has been a surveillance tool for 13 years."
