Lily Rose Depp on the cover of the December issue of ELLE

Lily-Rose Depp spoke out about accusations of privilege in the movie business in a candid interview with Elle magazine. She also discussed the difficulties of growing up under the scrutiny of the press. The 23-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis has denied allegations that she gets roles thanks to her family. "Nothing can give you a role except that you fit the role," she said. Lily-Rose is currently wrapping up filming on the HBO series Idol, along with The Weeknd and Troy Sivan.

At the same time, she claims that she got on her feet thanks to herself, but she still has to work hard to gain a foothold in the cinema. In the December issue of Elle, she appeared in photographs in outfits from Chanel, of which she has been the face for several years. “The Internet, in my opinion, is very concerned about this kind of (external) material,” she said.

Lily-Rose has only good things to say about her parents. “When I was growing up, they tried as much as possible to protect me and my brother (Jack) from increased attention. I know my childhood is different from the usual, and this is a special fact that you have to deal with. But it's also the only kind of childhood I'm familiar with."
