Louis Vuitton has established an award for representatives of the watch bus
The winner will receive €150,000 and a year of professional training.
The youngest son of billionaire Bernard Arnault, owner of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy luxury brand group, 24-year-old Jean Arnault has announced a one-year competitive challenge for those who design and manufacture watches and chronometers. In October, Arnault Jr. was named Head of Watch Products at Louis Vuitton and now develops and promotes the brand's products. His award initiative is called the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize. The main condition for participation in it is the independence of business from major brands. Students can take part in the test, as well as start-up entrepreneurs and experienced watchmakers, who, for example, have not yet been able to open their own shop. The prize fund will be 150 thousand euros. In addition to cash, the winner will have the opportunity to learn professional craftsmanship at the Louis Vuitton watch labs for a year. The results are planned to be summed up in January 2024.
Previously, the famous French brand conducted such tests exclusively for designers and clothing manufacturers.
