A collection of Barbie dolls in the form of Elizabeth II sold out in second
Copies of the lot issued for the 70th anniversary of the Queen's reign have already become collector's rarities.
The limited edition Barbie dolls in the form of Queen Elizabeth II were sold out in three seconds. This was reported by the press service of the British chain of department stores John Lewis. Mattel, the manufacturer of world-famous toys, introduced a new version for the platinum anniversary of the Queen at a price of £94.99. The doll, now a collectible rarity, can now only be purchased on eBay for a minimum of £1,000.
Barbie, in the guise of Elizabeth II, wears a white dress decorated with a blue ribbon and miniature medallions inspired by the orders of the British royal family. She wears a fringed tiara of Queen Mary, the prototype of the one worn by Elizabeth II on her wedding to Prince Philip.
