Marilyn Monroe dress designer criticized Kim Kardashian
Bob Mackie, 82, said the dress Kardashian wore to this year's Met Gala was designed for the actress and no one else should have worn it.
Kim Kardashian made a "big mistake" by wearing Marilyn Monroe's dress to the Met Gala 2022 in early May. This opinion was expressed by the designer who created the famous outfit in which the actress sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to John F. Kennedy in 1962.
Bob Mackie was only 23 years old when he drew a sketch of the outfit for Monroe. "Marilyn was a goddess. Crazy, but definetly a goddess. She was just incredible. Nobody was that photogenic. And it was made for her. It was made for her. No one else should show up in that dress," the fashion designer said.
He also backed experts who have lambasted Kardashian for jeopardizing a historically significant object. According to fashion historians, the TV star should not have worn the Monroe dress, but limited herself to a replica, that is, a skillfully made copy.
