Common Makeup Mistakes to Avoid
Makeup is a true art form that allows us to be creative and showcase our strengths.
Of course, every woman is different, and what works for one woman may not work for another. We list seven makeup mistakes to avoid in order to look amazing.
1. Choosing the wrong shade of concealer.
The concealer you use in the summer is likely to be too dark for you in the winter and lose its effectiveness. Conversely, a product that is too pale will give the pleasant impression of being tanned while wearing ski goggles.
Ideally, it is better to take a shade one or two shades lighter than foundation or our skin.
2. Forget about mascara.
And especially if you have pale eyelashes! Eye shadow or eyeliner applied without mascara will give the impression that your makeup lacks the finishing touch.
3. Incorrect shading of your contour.
It's great that now we can play with shadows and light to change or emphasize the shape of our face. On the other hand, if the contouring is poorly shaded, it will seem that you have a brown slash on each cheek!
The main thing in contouring is to shade it well. With a brush or sponge, we blend everything until we get a natural shade!
4. Apply black pencil on top and bottom, nothing else.
This "technique" will make the eyes look smaller and the result will be sorely lacking in finishing.
Be sure to add mascara and dark eyeshadow to give the eyes a smoky look.
5. Excessive filling of eyebrows.
The moment we decide to fill in our brows with powder or pencil, it's pretty easy to apply too thick a layer. In this case, it seems that we have two rectangles of the wrong color above our eyes!
Trick: Gently start with a brow pencil in the same shade as the hair and draw the shape of the brows in a natural line. Do not forget to blend the color with a brush according to the size of the eyebrows.
6. Don't fix your complexion.
A translucent powder in Pale Beige or "HD" applied over concealer and all over the face over foundation will change your life!
7. Forget about foundation for shadows.
The basis for applying shadows is simply necessary. A color that looks great on your eyeshadow palette won't look as good on your lids if it's applied without a primer.
In addition to brightening up the color, foundation ensures that your makeup stays in place all day and doesn't hide in the creases of your eye!
A little beauty tip: You can also use a long-lasting concealer to even out the skin tone of your eyelids and create a neutral base, perfect for applying eye shadow.
