Shakira and Gerard Pike broke up after ten years together

The central defender of Barcelona Gerard Pique and his common-law wife Shakira have been living separately for several weeks. About this writes Spanish newspaper El Periodico.

According to her, some time ago, Shakira accused Pike in cheating with another woman, which led to a breakup. The footballer packed his bags and left the house, which he shared with the singer and children. Now he has settled in his bachelor apartment.

The change can be explained by the fact that Pique has recently led an active social life, regularly visiting such nightclubs in Barcelona as Patron and Bling Bling. El Periodico claims that Shakira will soon make a statement about breaking up with her partner, with whom she lived for more than 10 years. "That's the reason fot this is couple distancing themselves. Maybe there are no feelings left between them, also it could be the fact of infidelity, which has occurred," the publication notes.

In an interview in 2020, the singer explained why she and Pike are in no hurry to legalize their relationship. "Marriage scares me. I don't want him to think of me as a wife, more like a girlfriend. It's like forbidden fruit. I prefer to keep him in tone and aware that things can change depending on his behavior."
