Gucci names its new creative director
In November, Alessandro Michele left this post, having held it for seven years.
The riddle has been solved. Last weekend, the luxury brand group Kering and its member Gucci announced the name of the new creative director of the Italian fashion house. They became Sabato De Sarno. He will show his first collection in a new quality in September this year at Milan Fashion Week.
De Sarno, who will report to brand president and CEO Marco Bizzarri, grew up in Naples and began his career at Prada in 2005, moving to Dolce & Gabbana before joining Valentino in 2009. In this fashion house, he held positions of responsibility, eventually becoming the curator of both women's and men's collections.
The previous creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, served for 7 years and during this time radically revised the aesthetics of the fashion house, offering customers gender-fluid models, eclectic style and original design.
