Nutritionist shares recipe for healthy pancakes
Pancake Week week has begun. It's time to make a tasty and healthy treat.
From 20 to 26 February is Pancake Week in Eastern Europe. On these days, it's customary to bake pancakes to symbolise the sun and the approaching spring. However, you should eat these "suns" of dough thoughtfully, not to do harm to your health.
Nutritionist Oksana Kovylkina recommends frying pancakes without oil. If you also reduce the amount of sugar when cooking, the pancakes will be healthier. "It is not necessary to butter each pancake, as vegetable oil is already added to the batter," stresses the specialist.
It is also possible to make pancakes with vegetable milk instead of wheat flour and with any other less-carbohydrate flour - such a meal will be less calorie-dense than the classic pancake.
