Giorgio Armani Fall Collection Show at Milan Fashion Week
The attention of the audience was attracted not only by the perfect cut of ready-made clothes, but also by its neutral palette full of earthy shades.
From the pink and white marble podium with its small banquettes and cushions, to the latest model revealing Giorgio Armani powder to freshen up her make-up, it was clear that the designer was thinking about privacy and quiet moments outside the boudoir doors.
Several signature Armani touches could be seen at the show, such as sarong-like skirts covering flowy trousers; short, sleeveless decorated jackets; with a clear shoulder line of the coat. But instead of the designer's signature play around grey, the palette this time around has been used in earthy, neutral hues similar to those featured in his Armani Beauty line.
The fabrics were soft and the shapes fluid, like a pajama-style suit in pale satin, complemented by a fitted jacket (it's Armani, after all) and a line of flowing trousers and dresses in dark green, melon and copper.
Models showcased them with embellished tops, fitted jackets or coats, like one of the floor-length options in cherry blossom pink.
Although formal, these trousers evoke sporty chic with ties at the waist or elastic waistband, ankle cuffs, cargo-style patch pockets and stripes.
While Armani may be late to the sports party, his cuts are a godsend for red carpet clients who can eat and drink to their heart's content without worrying too much about their waistline. Others will rejoice when they see his glittering evening gowns with loafer-like flats, a radical combination for any red carpet designer.
However, Armani argues that this is the meaning of design. “Fashion is made for women, not for the news. I have long adhered to this point of view, ”the fashion designer told reporters after the show.
Style of the second quarter of the XX century. Art Deco was present in the collection in the form of large fringed silk capes, a pink abstract flower on a long black velvet dress, and a fringed flat cap worn by a model who powdered her face and promoted the fashion house's cosmetics line.
Why not? Just a few weeks ago, Rihanna did the same thing when she took a break during her American Football Championship performance and touched up her makeup with Fenty powder, bringing the worlds of fashion, beauty and sports even closer.
