Gomez recently publicly introduced her boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco, and in an interview with Mexican Vogue she revealed what she expected from the relationship. Without mentioning Blanco by name, she noted that self-respect and sensitivity to other people's feelings are what she values most in a romantic partner.

"To be honest, I have to start paying more attention to the right type of people because of these two qualities. It's very hard to find someone who can hear you and care about you, but I know when it happens, it's wonderful, and you want it to be a healthy interaction.” Gomez and Blanco have now been dating for almost six months, but they met long before that. In 2019, they worked on the single "I Can't Get Enough". In addition to producing the track, Benny sang along with Selena, Tainy and J Balvin.

On social networks, Gomez began actively talking about her romance with Blanco in early December, writing that “he completely won my heart.” Soon after this, the singer published a black and white photo of her hand with a diamond ring in the shape of the Latin letter “B”, and recently shared a photo of herself with her boyfriend.
