Christmas baking pleases the most fastidious gourmets. An example is the famous ginger cookies. There are many recipes for making these popular sweets, but one thing they definitely have in common is the presence of ginger. Today we offer you to prepare ginger cookies according to our recipe.
- 500 g flour;
- 200 g brown sugar;
- 200 g butter;
- two teaspoons of ginger with a handful;
- one teaspoon of ground cinnamon;
- two eggs;
- a pinch of salt.
Place the flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and stir until all ingredients are smooth. Mix well. Then add the beaten egg and melted butter (40 seconds in the microwave will be enough to make the texture creamy). Stir the mixture until you get a homogeneous mass without lumps.
If the dough turns out to be dense, you can add a little milk or butter. And if it remains a little liquid, it is enough to add a little more flour.
Roll out the dough between two sheets of baking paper sprinkled with flour to prevent it from sticking and roll it out with a rolling pin until it is about 0.5 cm thick. Using cookie cutters (you can choose any shape you like), cut the dough.
Preheat the oven to 180º. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake until golden, 15-25 minutes (baking time depends on the power of the oven). When ready, take the ginger cookies out of the oven and place them on a board to cool.
If you want the ginger cookies to look more festive, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar, dip them in melted chocolate, decorate them with icing, thus making the cookies multicolored. Here you can apply all your imagination. Ginger cookies will become a decoration of any Christmas table, besides, it is a wonderful way to have fun and spend time with your children!
