Katy Perry is set to release a new album. According to a source close to the singer, it will be the most "personal" in her music career. Her album "Smile" was released in 2020, reaching the top five in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

"Katy is writing it (the album) on her own terms and it will be very different from what she's done before" a source close to Perry told The Sun. The artist is expected to tour in support of it after the release. "She hasn't done live shows since 2017-2018, when she performed in support of the Witness album.

For the past two years, she has performed concerts at a Las Vegas residency. The source added that after spending a long time on the west coast of the US, Katy feels ready to tour. "The demand is there because she has so many hits, so her shows will be a big draw. There's hope that she could tour in late 2024, but that's still being worked out."
