Makeup from Dior: repeating the look from Paris Fashion Week

Haute Couture Week has ended in Paris. Famous fashion houses showed haute couture collections for the spring/summer 2024 season. But, as always, clothes were not the main thing; fashion designers shared their vision of how the fair sex should, in general, look in the coming warm season. A very interesting “look” was the one proposed by Dior - a smooth hairstyle for long hair and slightly fluffed for short hair, “clean” skin, lips slightly touched with gloss and accentuated eyes. The author of the image was the image director of the French house, Peter Philips, who kindly shared the secret of its creation with L’Officiel magazine.

The main feature of this makeup, as already mentioned, is expressive eyes, namely the combination of dark and light around them. “This is a two-step process - a smoky eyeliner is applied to the lower lash line, and then the upper, mobile eyelid is “highlighted” with a light shade. The result is intense and soft eyes at the same time,” Phillips said backstage at the Dior fashion show. So, let's proceed step by step.

Eyes

“I create a bright, intense line for the bottom liner using Diorshadow On Stage Crayon 099 Black. Then I use a light brown shade from the Diorshadow 5 Colors 539 Grand Bal palette, which I apply along the upper lashes. I start by focusing it in the top right or left corner and then blending it towards the center for a little shimmer. Finally, I structure the eyebrows with Diorshow On Set Brow and Diorshow Brow Styler,” explained the stylist.

Face

Philips helps achieve a clear and radiant complexion with the Dior Capture Totale line of products. Apply Capture Totale Le Serum first, then Capture Totale Hyalushot. “After that, I continue to even out my skin with Dior Forever Glow Veil and Dior Forever. Skin Glow foundation adds radiance, and Dior Forever Skin Correct provides a slight coloring effect.”

Lips

Peter chose to leave the mouth “invisible” in this image. But this does not mean that lips do not need nutrition. The natural look will be emphasized by the transparent lipstick Rouge Dior Baume 000 Diornatural – Satin.

Nails and hair

Philips also decided to leave his nails without obvious visible changes, he just added shine to them using Dior Vernis 108 Miguet varnish. Well, the hair was given a well-groomed look - the models’ long hair was tied up in low buns, and the short ones were parted and stylized in the form of soft curls. The only accessory that adorned women’s heads here and there was a thin black velvet ribbon.
