Of course, no method will be effective without proper lifestyle habits, among which good rest and proper nutrition stand out. It should not be forgotten that dark circles under the eyes indicate not only a lack of sleep, but also a person's state of health.

How to get rid of dark circles under the eyes

According to John Hopkins Medicine, possible causes of dark circles under the eyes include allergies that cause inflammation under the eyes, a diet high in sodium that causes fluid retention, certain health conditions such as thyroid problems, the natural aging process, and genetics.

While some circumstances cannot be changed, such as age or genetics, there are some causes that can be nipped in the bud. Below we will introduce you to a number of ideas that you may find helpful.

1- Cleanse your face. Before starting the procedure, you should wash your face with fresh water and rinse off your makeup. This will also provide rest and coolness, so you'll notice relief right away.

2. Place a damp cloth on your eyes. Put the damp cloth in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Don't let it harden, just let it cool down a bit and then place the cloth directly on your forehead and eyes before going to bed. This will become an alternative version of a gel eye mask.

In general, the cool cloth should be left on your eyes for about 5-6 minutes. Then take a break for about 10 minutes, and reapply the cool cloth to your eyes. Repeating this action every night before going to bed can help reduce dark circles under the eyes.

3. Apply tea bags to your eyes. Some infusions help to get rid of dark circles and bags under the eyes. After brewing the tea or infusion, wait until it cools down. Then, squeeze the bag slightly and place it directly on the under eye area for about 20 minutes. Be careful, they should be room temperature or warm. After the time has elapsed, you should rinse your face to remove any tea residue.

In particular, chamomile infusions are recommended for dark circles.

4- Use cucumber slices. Cucumber slices have been used in beauty treatments for hundreds of years. Due to their high water content and antioxidant compounds, they would be useful for moisturizing and toning the skin.

They also have anti-inflammatory properties that would help reduce aesthetic problems such as puffiness and dark circles under the eyes. Applying it to the area around the eyes will improve blood circulation and help give them a fresher look.

You just need to cut a couple of slices of fresh cucumber and then cut them again, this time in half. Place them under your eyes while resting.
