Met Gala 2024: the most eccentric outfits of the evening
From Demi Moore to Zendaya, Pamela Anderson to Lana Del Rey, stars showed off different sides of the Garden of Time dress code at the annual ball.
The Met Gala 2024 held in New York City was attended by many celebrities. These include Zendaya, Pamela Anderson, Demi Moore and many others. They showed off quirky and darkly charming looks at fashion's biggest annual night. The theme was inspired by the story "The Garden of Time" (1962) by J. G. Ballard. In this review, we’ll look at the most original dressed stars; a little eccentricity and bravado never harmed anyone.
The dark side of fashion
Some stars (and their stylists) literally did their homework, diving deep into the sinister aspect of the British writer's fantasy work. It tells the story of a count couple whose garden is about to be destroyed by an angry crowd.
That's why there were so many celebrities on the Met Gala stairs dressed in black, with various elements from the life of birds, plants and gardening societies. Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Demi Moore, Cardi B, Rebecca Ferguson and Lily Gladstone all represented the darker side of fashion at the Costume Institute Gala.
Metal element
Another equally important component of the evening was metallic - silver elements interspersed in the images of such celebrities as tennis player Serena Williams, actresses Gabrielle Union and Keke Palmer, TV presenter and businesswoman Kim Kardashian, actress/singer and one of the hosts of the evening Jennifer Lopez.
According to Union's stylist, Thomas Christos Kikis, his client wanted to show another important element of the garden - water.
The motive of "awakening"
Some A-list celebrities (the highest paid) have turned their gaze not down or around, but up. They opted for a whimsical interpretation of both the Sleeping Beauties theme and the botanical dress code. Singer Lana Del Rey amazed those present with an airy Alexander McQueen outfit made of fancy branches.
Among other stars who chose similar images were actresses Elle Fanning and Dove Cameron, Pamela Anderson, as well as singers Ariana Grande and Carol G.
