Zendaya's stylist named five fashion houses from her “black” list
The 27-year-old actress decided not to collaborate with several famous brands due to lack of contact.
Stylist Law Roach, in a conversation with The Cutting Room Floor podcast, named five fashion houses with which his ward Zendaya prefers not to collaborate. The reason is that these brands refused to dress the actress at the beginning of her career. “I would define the big five - Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino and Dior. They would all say, “No, try again next year. She's too green. She's not on our calendar," Roach explained during the interview.
“I still have their answers,” he continued. - Since she (Zendaya) posed for American Vogue (in 2017), she has never worn products from these brands. And he continues to do so."
Roach, who has been helping the “The Contenders” and “Dune” star since she was 14, emphasized that the actress tried on “Big Five” models for magazine shoots, but never showed them off at public events. “She has never worn Dior on the red carpet before. She never wore Chanel on the red carpet - not to a press conference, not to a photo call, never. The first time she appeared at Valentino was only after signing a contract (with the fashion house).”
More than a year ago, the stylist himself stopped collaborating with Hollywood stars and stopped consulting them on outfits. He made an exception only for his favorite Zendaya. For the 2024 Met Gala, Lowe chose two looks for her. The actress arrived at the event in a custom dress from Maison Margiela by John Galliano. The second was an archival outfit from Givenchy, which was also designed by Galliano. Roach was also behind Zendaya's original appearances at the recent Dune: Part Two press tour, where she showed off "intergalactic looks."
