As we know, fashion is cyclical. Now we are seeing the return of the 90s, which means that not only trends rule our wardrobe, but also certain images from the popular culture that reigned almost three decades ago. In this review, we will pay close attention to them and find out how to style them today.

"Clueless" (1995)

Dionne Davenport's checkered two-piece skirt and cropped jacket, paired with a white T-shirt and thin red cardigan, complemented by black and white loafers and a voluminous hat, is an example of sophistication, playfulness and boldness. The author of the image belongs to costume designer Mona May, who, with a small budget, had to show miracles of resourcefulness. And she found nothing better than to visit consignment shops and look through designer catalogs. As a result, we got a style for "real" girls, and not just characters from a movie story.

"Romy and Michele at the Class Reunion" (1997)

True female friendship never goes out of style, and neither do the bright, flirty minidresses worn by the lead characters in this comedy starring Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow. Armed with a wardrobe filled with beads, glitter and rhinestones, the couple showed the world that fashion is all about having fun, being yourself and embracing both your strengths and weaknesses. And there's nothing more stylish than their little, elegant dresses in pink and blue.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

The gangster wife style has become popular now largely thanks to her, the colorful Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman), reckless and confident, dancing dashingly with the brutal Vincent Vega (John Travolta). Cropped black trousers, a white shirt with rolled up cuffs and a voluminous brown raincoat are proof of her inner strength and originality. And what else is needed now, in the "digital" age, when live communication is often replaced by virtual.

"Pretty Woman" (1990)

Vivienne Ward's (Julia Roberts) magical transformation from yesterday's prostitute to a real lady in Garry Marshall's romantic comedy was partly due to a silky brown dress with white polka dots by Carolina Herrera. It's perfect for shopping in boutiques or at a polo match, complemented by a white hat and gloves. Today's version is a combination of elegance and playfulness, perfectly expressing Vivienne's enthusiastic and vulnerable nature.

"Romeo + Juliet" (1996)

Let's leave aside Leonardo DiCaprio's stylish "armor" as Romeo Montague and remember his beloved's white dress with wings on her back. Claire Danes was beautiful in this angelic outfit and it is not surprising that the young man "pale with a burning gaze" could not pass by such a young lady, the poet's dream. Airy, thin cambric dresses are now at the peak of fashion and will decorate any candlelit dinner or picnic.
