We analyze clothing trends for the fall-winter 2024/2025 season
From boho aesthetics to burgundy, we take a look at the trends seen on the runways and planned for the next cool season.
Despite the approach of mid-summer, many people are already asking questions: what will we wear in the fall? What will be fashionable, and what can be easily put away in the closet? In this review, we will look at the trends announced on the catwalks back in February, and find out what will be worn in the fall and winter of 2024/2025.
Boho style
Chemena Kamali's debut at Chloe opened the door to a trend that had previously appeared here and there, but is now in full force: boho style. Flowing dresses with frills and high suede boots have been the uniform of Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and the Olsen sisters since the early 2000s. In addition to Etro and Ulla Johnson, which have the trend sewn into their subconscious, brands like Giambattista Valli and Rabanne have adopted the hippie aesthetic with lace dresses, abundant decor and numerous scarves tied like capes.
Color: dark red (almost garnet)
Dark red or cherry will continue its dominance in the coming autumn. It is difficult not to create total looks from them: Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta suggest dressing like this from head to toe. Leather is the format for exploring this shade. Versace offers it in corset dresses, and Gucci in shortened models and matching platform shoes.
Style: cape/scarf on the shoulders
What stands out in almost all the presented collections for autumn-winter 2024/2025 is the desire to “wrap up” the woman. Rabanne and Dries Van Noten made scarves the main “highlight” of the looks, placing them over the torso. For the rest, it is a cloak, which is selected in accordance with the overall style, from the gray The Garment to the beige Del Core. In other cases, the cloak is part of the look, such as at Prabal Gurung.
Texture: pile on the entire surface
There was no one among the famous designers who would ignore fur in outfits for cool weather. It can be small inclusions, like on the belt. Or various trims that match the textures of the accompanying design. Simone Rocha started promoting this idea, adding brown fur with different pile lengths to transparent materials. If we talk about more complete looks, fur is present mainly in coats. Michael Kors has powder pink, and Burberry has earth tones.
Accessory: Balaclava
There is one accessory that is sure to make a comeback this fall and winter: the balaclava. Usually associated with ski uniforms, it will be relevant even for those who do not play sports in the coming season. Stella McCartney, Fendi and Rick Owens offer it in a pair with a sweater or cape coat in a matching color, while Simone Rocha, on the contrary, plays on contrasts and recommends to highlight the balaclava against the background of the whole look.
