These include fitted dresses, dark colours and baggy trousers.

On the February catwalks, almost all the world's leading designers presented a wide variety of models made of denim - a versatile and practical fabric. Among them are jeans, jackets, shorts and skirts, which have already found their fans. Moreover, both among residents of large cities and active Internet users, and suburban residents who have no time to look at a computer monitor or a mobile device display. In this review, we will consider the features of the "denim" approach in the coming cool season.

*****

Declared in the 19th century as a material for men, denim has now acquired a reliable residence permit in the women's wardrobe. Several global brands presented models with a high waist and pleated skirts. And Schiaparelli, Christian Dior and Carolina Herrera raised the stakes, showing updated suits with midi skirts and strict jackets.

Love for baggy jeans

Wide trousers have been trending for several seasons now, and by all appearances, they are here to stay in the fall of 2024. Brandon Maxwell, Chloé, Michael Kors, Dries Van Noten and many others showed the best examples of baggy jeans, from those that are simply too big to those that can accommodate someone else besides the owner, such as a small child or a dog. But this is already a joke.

Going to the dark side

Denim was seen in a variety of shades on the runways: deep blue, dark gray, and so light it was almost white. But overall, it was clear that indigo, the color of raw, unwashed denim, would take the lead this fall. Carolina Herrera, Versace, and Victoria Beckham all presented denim-on-denim looks made entirely in blue and black. While Tory Burch built its look around just one denim piece to make an impact, a skinny zip-up denim jacket in a deep navy blue.

Slim and Fit

And here are skinny jeans, which have not been seen on the scene for several seasons, giving way to their roomier counterparts. Nevertheless, the model, reminiscent of leggings or, as we know, jeggings, was seen, for example, at Miu Miu in combination with faux fur coats. Bally and Balenciaga suggested tucking them into knee-high boots – the main shoe trend of autumn 2024.

Mix of fabrics

Why limit yourself to just one textile when you can combine several into a masterful, patchwork creation? At least that's the question Fendi, Stella McCartney, Chloé and Max Mara asked in their collections, which featured two-tone denim dresses, denim-suede jacket hybrids and trousers with a "repeatedly washed" texture.

Party Trousers

There's a reason to pop the champagne, and these trousers are worth throwing a party for. Denim with a metallic coating in gold and silver was used in Ralph Lauren's models, while Undercover went with fringe with metallic tassels, and Stella McCartney and Versace used silver glitter all over the surface of the items.
