Kanye West showed the ninth collection of his brand Yezzy in Paris
At the show, the 45-year-old musician/modeler appeared in a T-shirt with a provocative inscription.
At the show in Paris, Kanye West made a "loud statement" by wearing a black T-shirt that reads "White Lives Matter," which can be translated as "White Lives Matter. It is a reference to the popular phrase in the U.S. "Black Lives Matter," which became the motto of the African-American rights movement two years ago.
Before the models took the podium, Kanye took the floor. He talked about his influence on the fashion industry, as well as key moments from his biography. Among other things, he mentioned his path to mental health and recalled the episode with the robbery of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian in Paris in 2016. Even earlier, in an interview with Vogue, West shed light on his new collection, the ninth in a row, and why he decided to show it in France (the previous eight were shown in New York).
"Paris (Fashion Week) is the peak of the calendar fashion season," he stated. "I make music, rap music, I'm going to put on a hoodie, take an Uber and go to Future's fashion house. And so it's day after day. And if we're working on clothes? Then Paris."
