Fear no cold: how to prepare the body for winter
Candidate of Medical Sciences Lubov Ananyina shares her advise on avoiding loss of strength and deterioration of health during the cold season, says
Autumn moves smoothly into winter, the period of colds is not far off, and other negative symptoms - general weakness, depression - are acutely felt in the cold. In order not to face them and stay fresh and active during the whole cold season, you should prepare your body for winter in advance. It is not difficult:
Positive
Try to spend more time with people you enjoy - family, friends, loved ones, co-workers - different categories of people can fill your life with joy. Try to fill your life with companionship with them - this will prevent depression. So will your favorite activities. Try to find time every day to read a few pages of an interesting book, cook a new dish, do crafts or anything else that will make you happy.
Vitamins
Vegetables strengthens the immune system and protein strengthens the nervous system, and also improves the condition of the skin. Fresh vegetables and fruits (seasonal - kiwi, sweet peppers, persimmon, citrus fruits) must be on the table, as well as meat/fish and dairy products.
Iron
Experts believe that a lack of iron can lead to a decrease in hemoglobin levels in the blood and decrease the oxygen supply to the cells. The result is rapid fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and pallor. Iron is found in meat, liver, seafood, eggs, and apples.
Proper nutrition
It is no good to overload the body with fatty, spicy food, alcohol, sweets. However, your liver will only be grateful if you eat cereals, honey, dried fruits, and light meat (chicken/rabbit).
Vaccination
The flu shot should not be neglected. The best time to get it is from September to December. The body will build up a proper defense within four weeks after the vaccination.
Movement
A mobile lifestyle helps the body adapt more quickly and easily to any changes. Activity can be anything - jogging in the morning, exercising, dancing, etc.
Mode of the day
Here everything is simple: sleep at least eight hours, the last meal three hours before bedtime, and breakfast is obligatory (and it's better if it will consist of porridge with fruit and a cup of green tea).
Cleanliness - the key to health
You will not be afraid of catching colds, if you do not forget about timely hand washing and disinfecting the objects that you touch most often. Another effective measure to prevent colds is to wash your nose with seawater, which both kills germs and moisturizes the nasal cavity mucosa.
