Willem Dafoe escaped the trap in the trailer for the thriller "Inside"
The premiere of this story of survival in "cramped" circumstances is scheduled for March 2023.
No one makes lockdown as crazy as Willem Dafoe does. The "The Lighthouse" (2019) and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021) star has joined the cast of Focus Features' new film, "Inside." Based on the script by Ben Hopkins, it was directed by debutant director Vassilis Katsupis, best known for his work on the documentary My Friend Larry Gus (2016).
"Inside" tells the story of a high-class thief named Nemo (Defoe). He specializes in the theft of art objects and trades in the neighborhoods where the rich and famous live. However, at some point, another robbery starts to go wrong, and he finds himself locked in a New York penthouse without food, water, or basic necessities. In order to survive in an electronically packed, enclosed space, Nemo must use all his resourcefulness and ingenuity, and even more...
The film stars Gene Berwoots, Eliza Steak and Josiah Krug, but "Inside" is positioned as a benefit for Willem Dafoe, as he is onscreen for most of the film's narrative. Focus Features President of Production and Purchasing Kiska Higgs commented on the filming of "Inside": "Focus continues to confirm its willingness to work with foreign directors and debutant directors. Thoughtful, provocative, Vassilisa explores an experience we're all familiar with now, isolation, and explores it in a visually stunning way."
The psychological drama "Inside" is scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2023.
