Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively to play in the sequel to "A Simple Request"

Paul Fig will return to the director's chair for the sequel to "A Simple Request", starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. On screen actresses portrayed two girlfriends involved in a dangerous web of deception.

Lionsgate and Amazon Studios will produce the sequel. In a social media post, Lively liked THR's post about the plans to begin filming, thus confirming her involvement in the new project. In addition to directing, Fig will act as a producer. Jessica Sharzer, who developed the storyline of the original picture as well, will write the script.

"A Simple Request" grossed $97 million at the worldwide box office on a $20 million budget.
